Germany explained step by step

Navigate Germany helps newcomers find the right official source, understand the next practical action and avoid getting lost across disconnected websites.

Our mission

Turn complex public information into calm, scannable pathways for immigrants, students, workers, families, researchers and refugees.

Official vs guidance

We explain common steps and link outward. Only the responsible authority can confirm rules, eligibility, documents, fees and decisions.

No account required

The static website works without a login or AI API. Saved guides and language preferences stay in your browser.

Why this exists

One starting point, many responsible authorities

Germany's federal structure means services can differ by state and city. The platform connects national guidance with all 16 Bundesländer and topic-specific guides, while clearly marking what must be checked locally.

The builder

Created by Shaista Shabbir

Navigate Germany is an independent public-interest project shaped by the everyday questions newcomers ask when settling in Germany.

Honest multilingual progress

The homepage supports ten language selections for key navigation and orientation. Detailed guide translations are still being expanded and may remain English. The interface labels this honestly instead of presenting machine-generated content as official translation.

This is not a government website, law firm, emergency service or immigration authority.
